MEDIEVAL EUROPE COLLECTION

The Ashmolean's medieval archaeology collections range in date from the earliest Anglo-Saxon objects found in England, to the consumer goods of the 18th century. Geographically the collections are wide ranging, with objects collected from Britain, mainland Europe and Scandinavia. There are significant groups of excavated material from Oxford city and sites in Oxfordshire, such as Sutton Courtenay, Dorchester-on-Thames, Berinsfield, Seacourt, and Woodperry, among others.
